Welcome to the OHSU School of Medicine Alumni Online Community.  This site is filled with information about the School of Medicine (SOM), faculty updates, educational opportunities and refresher courses, and especially news about your classmates and friends.  The site is updated regularly so that news is new.  Print publications supplement our online community, but for current information, this site is your best bet.  Use it often and keep up with your school and your classmates.

I want to take this opportunity to remind you of all the services that the Alumni Association can provide.  I graduated in 1959, making 2009 the 50-year anniversary of my class.  In September ’09, almost half of my graduating class will meet for two days at Salishan Resort on the Oregon Coast.  The organizational skills of the Alumni Office made contacting classmates from around the county much easier.  Arrangements for dinner, golf, and accommodations were all facilitated by the Alumni Office.  When a reunion or other event is planned, remember the help that the Alumni Office can provide. And they can help you locate “John Doe,” the classmate you haven’t seen in years...

This past year the Alumni Association added a “Specialty Speed Dating” event for first- and second-year medical students.  Interested students spend an evening with volunteer community and faculty specialists to discuss medical practice in various specialties and settings.  The annual awards banquet in the spring and the holiday party in December continue to be popular.  Put them on your schedule.  

OHSU is – and has always been – an outstanding university with a superb student body, world class researchers and educators, and a campus that facilitates excellence at all levels.  If you haven’t made a visit to the Hill recently, plan to do so soon, and contact the Alumni Office for assistance with parking and directions.  And certainly do keep in touch by regularly visiting the Alumni Online Community.
